About the Role:

Sopra Steria is looking for a Software Development Engineer 2 with strong skills in Node.js and SQL, and practical knowledge of AWS cloud. This role focuses on backend module development and database optimization, with Angular as a secondary skill for frontend contributions. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize backend applications using Node.js.
• Handle SQL database operations; ensure normalization, sharding, indexing, and query optimization.
• Implement cloud solutions on AWS, including deployment and scaling.
• Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other tech teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Support product/application validation and deployment activities.
• Mentor and coach junior developers; manage stakeholder networks and aid end-user acceptance.

Key Technical Skills:

Node.js, SQL, AWS, Database concepts (Normalization, Sharding, Indexing), Git, Clean code practices, Modular development, Angular (secondary)

Requirements:

• B.E./B.Tech or degree in IT or related field.
• 3–4 years of hands-on experience in relevant tech stack.
• Practical expertise in Node.js, SQL, AWS.
• Familiarity with Angular and modern frontend frameworks.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience mentoring colleagues is advantageous.
